Prices of HiWater Fan Coil Units
To our knowledge, a variety of heating and cooling devices and equipment are utilized in air conditioning systems, one of which is the fan coil unit.
Fan coil units are considered some of the most essential and versatile heating and cooling devices due to their structure and functionality. In general, these units consist of two main components: the fan and the coil. These components can be managed and controlled using a thermostat. The performance of fan coil units depends on the water circulating through their coils. For heating, the system connects to a heat source, such as a boiler room, to receive hot water produced by a boiler but for cooling, the unit connects to a chiller to obtain the chilled water necessary for cooling.

Advantages of Using Fan Coil Units

Fan coil units independently control and regulate the temperature in various sections of a space.
All fan coil units are typically more compact than other air conditioning systems, which minimizes the amount of space they occupy.
With fan coil units, there is no transfer of contamination from one section of the environment to another.

And so on.

Types of Fan Coil Units
Fan coil units are available in a wide range of models. Here, we discuss two of the most commonly used types: ducted fan coil units and floor-mounted/ceiling-mounted fan coil units.

Ducted Fan Coil Units: These units are installed within suspended ceilings, making them ideal for saving space. Due to the strong performance of ducted fan coil units, they are capable of circulating a large amount of air into the space. As a result, they are commonly positioned in corridors or areas with tall ceilings.
Floor-Mounted and Ceiling-Mounted Fan Coil Units: As the names suggest, these units can be installed either on the floor or on the ceiling. When installed on the floor, the unit is positioned vertically, with one side resting on the floor and the other attached to the wall. For ceiling installations, the unit is usually mounted horizontally and is surface-mounted.

Components of Fan Coil Units
The coil, a crucial component, consists of copper tubes with aluminum fins. These tubes are arranged in two or three rows and are connected to a collector.
One coil is designed for winter use, supplying hot water from the boiler, while the other is used during summer to provide cold water from the chiller.

It is important to note that coil connections are prone to blockages or leaks, which should be repaired promptly through welding. The electric motor, a key element of the fan coil unit, operates at three different speeds and controls the system. In fact, increasing the speed directly enhances the airflow provided by the fan coil unit

Filters are other parts of fan coil units, made from plastic or metal, which are washable and replaceable. These filters are positioned along the air intake path and thus prevent dust and pollutants from entering the fan, ensuring clean air and promoting health.

Water drainage in a fan coil unit is managed by the drain pan. During hot seasons, humidity from the air condenses on the coil and accumulates in the pan. The collected water is then drained through a pipe connected to the pan and channeled outside using a special hose. Furthermore, the air vent valve, positioned on the main coil pipe, is available in automatic and manual versions and its main role is to expel air from the fan coil unit.

Air venting significantly improves the device’s performance. The selector switch provides control over the system with four different settings: off-on, medium, low, and high. Users can select their preferred setting manually or through the selector switch.
