The HiWater galvanized filtration system functions like a sand filter for purifying swimming pool water and uses silica in this process. Silica is an economical material considering its wide range of uses. These filters are designed in cylindrical shapes and occasionally in square forms, operating under atmospheric pressure to physically filter water. HiWater galvanized filters are utilized for pool water filtration.
 
Filtration systems are available in different types among which sand filters are the most prevalent. Sand filters are made from sand, silica, fine gravel, etc. in very small and delicate sizes to capture suspended particles in the water. The mechanism of these filters works as follows: contaminated pool water enters the filter on one side, passes through multiple layers of sand and small pebbles, and exits the filter as purified water.
 
 Different Types of Sand Filters

Slow Pool Sand Filter: This filter is referred to as “slow” due to its low speed in water purification.
Fast Pool Sand Filter: This type is named due to the fast flow of water over the sand bed.
High-Rate Pool Sand Filter: It is similar to the fast type, but differs in that the water flow rate is measured per square meter of surface area.

 
Galvanized filtration systems are advantageous due to their long lifespan and resistance to stresses.
